Any of y’all seen the movie, the changeling. This movie is 1980 Canadian psychological horror film directed by Peter Medak. This movie was then adapted and Directed by Sibi malayil, Davathoothan. In both movie the plot is the same, the main character had a tragic incident in the past and he return to the same place after many years to find the connection between him and the ghost of the young boy that was haunting the place. 


The Changeling


The Changeling is a 1980 Canadian psychological horror film directed by Peter Medak. The movie follows John Russell (George C. Scott), a composer who recently lost his wife and daughter in a tragic accident. Russell moves into a large, old mansion, hoping to find solitude and inspiration. However, he soon discovers that the mansion is haunted by the ghost of a young boy who died under mysterious circumstances.


As Russell delves deeper into the mystery, he uncovers a dark family secret and a tragedy that occurred in the house many years ago. The ghost's presence becomes more intense, and Russell's investigations put him in danger. The movie builds up to a climactic confrontation, revealing the truth behind the boy's death and the reason for the haunting.

Davathoothan 

In Davathoothan the main character, vishal Krishnamoorthy played by Mohanlql was debarred by the director board from his college because of a misunderstanding, that he was the one played an instrument known as 7 bells 🔔 which was played by the ghost. After many years the college principal and some students called him back to compose and direct a drama for their college competition because he was an extraordinary music composer and director. This allowed him to find the connection between why he was debarred for something he didn’t do.


After being in the college for a few days he found out that one of the lady in the board member, angel igneous who loved Maheshwar passionately for 30 years because of his great vocals, even when he was blind. Angel’s father, igneous was not supportive of this relation and wanted them to break up however since their love were very strong they didn’t obey the instructions. This caused igneous to cut the fingers of Maheshwar and leading him to death because of the bite from stray dogs. Vishal Krishnamoorthy was the person chosen by Maheshwar to tell angel that he will not come back again. This was the reason why the name of the movie is Davathoothan which translates to messenger of the good in Malayalam
